Mānuka Brothers Coffee is a family-run boutique roastery in the Waikato, founded in 2013. What began as a shared love of coffee and a “what if…?” has grown into a small business built on craft, curiosity, and care.
At the heart of our roastery is a handcrafted wood-fired roaster, built by brothers-in-law Tyson Downing and Graeme Rogerson. Combining their skills and a good dose of Kiwi ingenuity, they beautifully engineered a one-of-a-kind roaster, affectionately known as Black Betty. Our coffee is roasted over the glowing embers of Mānuka wood, developing a distinctive warmth, sweetness, and complexity in every batch. This point of difference has intrigued and continued to win over coffee connoisseurs.
We take care in each step on the way to creating our coffee. From ethically traded beans, being mindful and involved with how our Mānuka wood is harvested, to choosing eco-friendly and compostable packaging to create a product we are proud of.
